I'm Walking On Sunshine...

... Literally. Like the surface of the sun. Mars and I (unfortunately for Mars!) are experiencing Adelaide weather history. Headline from today's news:
"Adelaide is experiencing its hottest day in 70 years. The mercury reached 45.5 degrees Celsius in the city this afternoon. The Weather Bureau says Adelaide's hottest day on record was 46.1 degrees in January 1939. This week could see Adelaide equal its hottest heatwave on record. The record of six days of 40 degree heat or more was set in January 1908. On Tuesday Adelaide had a top temperature of 43.2 degrees. The Weather Bureau is forecasting a further five days of 40 degrees or more for the city."

It's -15 at home or 45.5 in Oz... so much for a happy medium! I've updated posts and added a few more, so scroll down if you're interested (except if you're Ant or his mom.... in which case skip the Australia Day post! hehe). We are camping out indoors in Adelaide for the next week or so, and I'll post again when something interesting happens or to let you know Marissa has melted.
Addition to post: In the face of the hottest day of the millennium, the Aussies decided to have a barbie! We had a massive BBQ dinner and I got the honour of "throwing another shrimp on the barbie"! (The irony being that they call them "prawns" and very rarely cook them when having barbies!) Sometimes, you just gotta humour the tourists...
