Martinis and meerkats with my man!

Hello faithful blog followers! Sorry for the delay. Worked my butt off the 2 weeks before Tom arrived, then traveled with him for 12 days, then have been working hard again! But, alas, Blog updates will be coming fast and furious!

Tom arrived in Sydney on Easter Monday and decided the best way to get over the jet lag was to party with his mates and then run around the city for 2 days!! I arrived in Sydney on Thursday and we packed even more fun stuff in. It was great to see him after 3.5 months.... especially since I am really tanned :) We walked around town, checked out some scenery, and had some fab drinks with the Sydney Harbour as our backdrop. The next day we took the Ferry to the Taronga Zoo... a really cool zoo on an island with a vast array of animals including
giraffes, lions, and my new favourite animal: the meerkat! They are super tiny and hilarious! They look around all the time like they are confused and thinking "what? What?????". Tom got to see his first token Aussies animals: A koala and some really lazy kangaroos! After the zoo, we took another ferry ride to Manly Beach. Many Sydney locals, including Tom's friend, say that Manly is better than Bondi, and I was excited to check it out since I missed it the first time 'round in Sydney. It was beautiful and we ate at a thai restaurant that had a terrace overlooking the beach. Tom got into the aussie spirit and bought some boardies and a Rip Curl hoodie!

The next day we were supposed to catch a morning flight back to Noosa, but we were not aware (nor, shockingly, were there any signs) that the airport train line takes a different route in the mornings. We showed up before the flight left, but weren't there in time to get Tom's luggage checked in!! First flight I have missed in a while! So we made the best of the day by taking a train to Bondi and taking an evening flight back to Noosa. Had a great time wandering around Bondi and watching the surfers try to avoid running over the swimmers on the packed beach! Travel agent Kim didn't leave Tom much tome to relax, as the next morning we were on a bus to Rainbow beach.....

  1. Meerkats are altruistic and the one's with the most relatives in the pack, will stand up (looking quite dazed) to give themselves up to any predator. That way the pack survives by escape and the gene pool is preserved for that meerkat that was eaten ... true

So Tom is giving himself up to you to preserve all other males???? TOOOOOO funny
