The rough life continues...

Since our friend Josh was MIA for a while and had the surf board I use locked in his garage, I had to find other ways to be outside and entertain myself. Just so happens that, being the chatty Canadian that I am, I started talking with a few locals that frequent our restaurant. Turns out they are both early retirees with nothing to do and lots of $$, so they invited me out for a round of golf at Noosa Springs, one of the most prestigious courses on the coast!! Pictures below... it was soooo beautiful. I played pretty well for not swinging a club in almost a year. One of the guys is such a typical old-school surfer dude (he owned all of the surf shops on Hastings Street at one point). He took me out on his super-tricked out jetski. There was a huge storm brewing and the waves were enormous. We did wave running (trying to outrun the waves before the crashed on us), wave surfing (riding the wave on the jetski), and wave jumping (going straight at the wave and getting huge air). It was seriously like something out of a Bond film... at one point I was even thinking "Holy crap... this is INSANE!" I loved it and got to drive out on the open water. So fun! Then a few days later, Josh, Daniel, Nadia, Brett and I took out a party boat, had a BBQ on the water, and then I went for a wakeboard behind Brett's jetski.
Tough life, but someone has to live it!!
Am off on a 12 day vacay with Tom tomorrow... should be lots of fun! We are going to Sydney, Fraser, and Cairns. Woo-hoo! Also, Glen just visited us this weekend.. our first house guest! He has moved to Melbourne for work and is now a direct flight away. Mars reports they had a great weekend and some great meals... it's always nice to have someone else serve you when you're a server all day!
Will post if I can on my trip...

  1. So now the list includes "directionally challenged Lance", "Frenchy in tighty whity's" and an "old retarded surfer dude"??? I expected to keep track of a Kimism list but this will do!

Jays are 4 and 2 and lead the East? I know 2 guys in the pitching rotation. A bit early for the band wagon but it's fun to watch.

  2. WILL YOU BE CAREFUL - stop doing such unsafe activities - stick to golf. What a great looking course. Sounds like you had a good round! Nice to have time off to "vacation"!
    Have fun!
