Happy Taj-Giving!!!!

How was your Thanksgiving? Good, I spent it with the fam and ate lots of turkey.... How was yours? Good... spent the day wandering around the Taj Mahal... you know, the usual.

!!!

Happy TG to everyone! We couldn't believe that we got to spend it at the Taj. The structure is amazing when you first see it. So beautiful and grand and it looks like it's floating. IT is difficult to believe that the whole thing was built to be a monument and tomb for one woman (Mumtaz Mahal). Sometimes we have to struggle to remind ourselves that we are actually seeing the things we see... the Great Wall, the Taj... it's just so surreal sometimes. We are really truly lucky to be doing what we're doing and this Thanksgiving, THAT (among many many other things) is what I am thankful for. On top of the usual stunning scenic shots, we took full advantage of the opportunity to take as many silly tourist and typical Kim/Mars self portraits as possible! Mars is on the famous "Diana Bench" (where Princess Di posed for her Taj photo.) I am holding onto the top of the Taj, looking like a real tourist with my "Ali-baba pants" on! They are seriously comfortable! I thought that since I was buying the silliest looking pants ever, I would go all out and buy them in the loudest pattern I could find. Dave - you should be proud! The Indian men (aka the paparazzi) were out in full effect, taking photos of us literally everywhere we turned. We also witnessed the other strange Indian phenomenon where people want you to hold their babies and pose for a photo... it is truly bizarre.

Thankfully, we had the beauty of the Taj to look at during our time in Agra, because otherwise, the city is a sh*thole. The food is awful (we REALLY wanted to be sent some TG food!), the street vendors are unimaginably aggressive (walking to the Taj is liking running through a gauntlet... it's highly unlikely you come out unscathed!), and the city itself is not pretty. But, regardless, we had a wonderful and very memorable Taj-Giving :)
